Fr. Mag. Saju Sharat IMS
Pater Saju Sharat IMS, the eldest son of Mr.Varkey Thomas and Mrs.Cicily Thomas Kadappoor was born on 24th December 1967 in Murickassery, Kerala.

After his SSLC, he joined the Community of the Indian Missionary Society ( IMS) and he is now a member of its Delhi Province. In the early years of his training, he could get acquainted with many people of different cultures and languages, especially in the North Indian missions. Enriched with thrilling
experiences and a wide ranging knowledge of the missionary and pastoral field, he continued his theological studies in the Major Seminary of Ashta, Bhopal. He was ordained priest on 16th April 1996. He served his missionary parish as Assistant Chaplain till 1999, and thereafter for a period of five years as being the Parish Priest of the Mariadham Church in Kuwakhera in U.P. These years he manifested his caliber and leadership abilities to the highest grade of approval and appreciation, as being the Director of the Mariadham Social Service Society, the Secretary of the Education Society of the IMS Delhi Province, Teacher of the CDM High School, Joya in UP. He was sent to Vienna for his higher studies in Theology in 2001 and simultaneously he was appointed as the Assistant Chaplain of the Indian Catholic Community Vienna. This year he completed his Masters in Theology at the University of Vienna, with an excellent grade of success.

His committed service to the Indian Catholic Community all these years has won the heart of every Malayalee in Vienna. He remains extraordinarily impressive and lively in the memory of every member of this Community. His quiet, pleasing, intimate, joyful, affectionate and appealing ways of contact with others of various age groups, his effective pastoral and spiritual care of the ICC, his animating guidance to the children and the youth, and above all his marvelous skill in preaching the Word of God, indicate the richness of his personality and the excellence of his leadership. As he bids farewell to the Indian Catholic Community in order to take up a more challenging pastoral assignment in Germany, we feel already the pain of his absence with us. However we are very grateful to him for all that he has been with us and for his pastoral service to the Indian Catholic Community.

Dear, Pater Saju, we are proud of you as you have been a marvelous blessing to our Community. We wish you all the best in your future ministry. We join all our hearts together and tell you: Thank you. We love you. You will be very intimate to us where ever you are. May God bless you.

My Dear Ref. Fr. Saju,

Your calm, quite, simple and innocent nature always attracted me. I hope and pray to Jesus to give you enlightenment to move to the new Charismatic movement to evangelize the millions who are unknown to Jesus! I humbly pray to Jesus to give you the blessings of "Preaching, Teaching and Healing". On behalf of our family and Immanuel Prayer Group I quote the Psalms 121 as the Goodbye Wish! God Bless You!

Psalms 121:

I will lift up my eyes to the hills.
Where does my help come from?
121:2 My help comes from Yahweh,
who made heaven and earth.
121:3 He will not allow your foot to be moved.
He who keeps you will not slumber.
121:4 Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
121:5 Yahweh is your keeper.
Yahweh is your shade on your right hand.
121:6 The sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
121:7 Yahweh will keep you from all evil.
He will keep your soul.
121:8 Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in,
from this time forth, and forevermore

Dear Saju acha,

We are happy to have you as our assistant chaplain of Indian Catholic Community in Vienna. We remember your first service in Votiv Church – Vienna and followed your preaching always with great interest.

You have vast knowledge in theology and you are a genius in literature. Your deep knowledge and simplicity explored the hearts of all the Malayalees in Vienna. Your preaching and talks were very short, very clear, very deep and very impressive. Your ability to express things are appreciating.

We have only good remarks to remember you in future. We never heard from the community anything against you. I am sure that it is not easy to build up only good remarks.

We wish you all success in your future services. May the blessings of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always to become a big candle with bright light.

Dear Rev.Fr. Shaju IMS,
It is true that wisemen loath the language of a flatterer. But I am not a flatterer. My heart compels me to write to you what I think true. Today while you were celebrating the Holy Mass at Meidling I could notice a mystic in you. You were fully absorbed in the presence of the Lord God. The sermon which you gave us was very beautiful and it still echoes in my mind. And I shared it with my wife.
You told us a beautiful similie- the similie of a flower. Yes, a flower spreads its fragrance and it glorifies its Creator. You too spread the fragrance of the priesthood.
Each priest is the Power and Glory of the mercyful God. I love priests.
God will never allow the world to overshadow His divine love for his creation. He will certainly anoint many priests and send them everywhere to attract his people to him.
The people will never understand how much God loves his priests until they reach in Heaven. I am sure that God is proud of you. While you were giving the sermon today at Meidling the Angels listened to a beautiful voice in Heaven: "Fr.Shaju is my dear priest with him I am well pleased."
With best wishes,

Dear Rev.Fr.Saju IMS,
I appreciate your rhyming words. It has been a pleasant experience for me to listen to your preachings. You are an anointed speaker.Your style of speech is so powerful and effective that many of your words find a place in the hearts of your audience. Your gentle and pleasing manners show that you speak out what you practise in your personal life. "For the words of the mouth flow out of what fills the heart".
You have been a great gift of God to the Indian Catholic Community in Vienna.
Eventhough I personally feel sorrow for your leaving I firmly believe that you are going to be a blessing for the German Parish to where you are going. So I rejoice at your leaving. May God Almighty anoint your tongue in such a way that you can preach in German as Malayalam. May God use you to revive the German parish.
Now I think of the great novel "The Power and Glory" . Each priest is indeed the power and glory of God.
Best wishes,
